Our Mission
In Arkansas, a local County Republican Committee (like the Fulton County Republican Committee) serves as the ground-level foundation for the state party.
Its primary mission is to promote conservative principles and ensure that Republican candidates are successfully elected to public office at every level—from the local courthouse to Washington, D.C.

Under Arkansas election laws and the Rules of the Republican Party of Arkansas, the main duties of a county committee are divided into three main buckets: Elections Administration, Grassroots Mobilization, and Party Operations.

Engaging directly with constituents to activate voters and support local conservative initiatives.

Managing the internal framework and resources necessary to maintain a strong party presence.
Election Administration
This is the most critical legal function the committee performs. In Arkansas, political parties are heavily involved in running their own primary elections.
Candidate Recruiting, Vetting, & Filing
The county committee is responsible for setting and collecting local party filing fees for candidates running for county offices. They officially accept paperwork and certify names to the county clerk, while verifying the character of those filing to run.
Appointing Election Commissioners
The county committee selects the Republican representatives who sit on the County Board of Election Commissioners. This bipartisan board manages polling places, hires poll workers, prints ballots, and counts votes on election night.
Providing Poll Watchers
The committee recruits and trains official poll watchers to observe locations during early voting and on Election Day. This ensures transparency, accountability of poll workers, and proper adherence to state election laws.
Candidate Support
They provide logistical support, local data, and volunteers for Republican candidates passing through or running in the county.
Grassroots Campaigning, Education, and Mobilization
Voter Registration, Outreach, and Education
Committee members organize local voter registration drives, coordinate door-to-door canvassing, and manage phone banks to identify conservative voters.
The committee acts as the primary marketing and volunteer engine for the GOP within the county lines.
Get Out The Vote (GOTV)
In the weeks leading up to an election, the committee focuses on driving voter turnout, making sure people know their polling sites and helping them secure absentee ballots if needed.
Party Growth & Local Operations
Behind the scenes, the committee is responsible for keeping the local party organized, funded, and relevant, with an active presence in the community.
Monthly Meetings
They host regular public meetings to discuss local issues, hear from guest speakers, and provide a hub for politically minded neighbors to connect.
Local Fundraising
The committee organizes events—such as Reagan-Rockefeller dinners, Lincoln Day dinners, barbecues, or auctions—to raise the money needed for campaigns and local party operations.
Selecting State Delegates
During convention years, the county committee meets to elect delegates who will travel to the state capitol and represent the county’s voice in shaping the official GOP platform.
